The Anglican Cathedral of Second Life

Services for Holy Week and Easter

During this week there will be our regular services taking place plus extra ones as this is Holy Week. I do hope you will find some of these to be at convenient times when you can join us.

On Maundy Thursday (1st April) at 2pm SLT we will recall together the Last Supper and Jesus washing the feet of the disciples before his arrest. This service will include a Youtube video. To view this in SL it is now necessary to download and install a plug-in, which can be accessed here. This should only take a few minutes to set up.

On Good Friday (2nd April) at 7am SLT we will walk the Stations of the Cross with Jesus. Later there will be a Tenebrae service (a service of shadows) at 1pm SLT. Readers are needed for this so if you can use voice please contact me.

On Holy Saturday (3rd April) at 7am SLT there will be a meditative service. At 1pm SLT there will be the Easter Vigil when we light the new fire and recall the story of salvation from Genesis onwards. Readers are needed for this service also.

On Easter Sunday (4th April) the service will take place at the normal time, noon SLT.

  1. how can I attend these services???

    • Hi Marie. To attend you need a Second Life account, which is free. Go to http://www.secondlife.com and follow the bright orange ‘Join now’ sign. Once you are in SL, type Epiphany into the search facility and you should find us and be able to teleport to our island. Anyone is welcome to attend our services.
