Well here I am in Guildford, its 7am and in a couple of hours I will be attending a very important meeting in the life of the Anglican Church plant in Second Life.
This is from the info pack for the conference:
- An intimate one day event to focus on the implications of Web.2.0, Second Life and the world of Virtual Church for the Church of England, the Anglican Communion and the wider Church.
- This table top conference brings together pioneer Web 2.0 practitioners with theological and missional thinkers, cultural observers and ecclesiastical lawyers.
- The aim is to produce effective ‘apologetics’ material to help project a completely new and emerging area of mission into wider consciousness, backed by understanding and support from more traditional areas of the Church.
- This event has not been ‘branded’ in any way because those attending come from a range of denominational and other backgrounds. All offer a breadth of input to kick-start production of resources to support an area of ministry which, for many in the Church, is currently hidden from view.
I welcome your prayers!
I will post a full report of the conference in the next couple of days.
Revd Mark (Arkin)
Greetings!
This Saturday, May 24, Arkin, Gareth, Helene and MikeCamel will be attending a meeting in the UK with the Bishop of Guildford and others to discuss the ministry of the Anglican Church in SL. On that day, at 2:30 AM SLT, Arkin will be coming in-world to give them a tour of the Cathedral. We would love to see you there! I know the early hour will be a challenge for the North Americans, but I will have a big pot of coffee at the ready, and hope to see many of you there to extend a welcome to them!
Whether or not you will be able to attend, please keep all of them in your prayers!

Epiphany Island,
Update 1 Comment

Greetings!
The landscaping work on the Epiphany grounds is proceeding well. Last night I put the finishing touches on the re-vamped Meditation Garden (on the southeast corner of the island). Since many of you have been asking about it, just thought I’d post to let you know it is back!
The following is a report of the group discussion that occurred last Saturday, revolving around the general topic of “Being Christian In Second Life.” These discussions happen every Saturday at 11 a.m. SLT, at the benches in front of the Parish House. All are welcome to attend! Arundel Dragonash, who co-moderates these discussions (along with Joyous Schism) prepared the following summary.

Epiphany Island,
Update 1 Comment

Thanks to the generous donation by Hildeguard Psaltery, we now have a labyrinth on (the southwest corner of) Epiphany Island! Hildeguard made a copy of the labyrinth she previously constructed and placed on Support for Healing Island.
Thanks also to Elly Crispien, who assisted me in getting this labyrinth settled into its new home. Elly also donated the lovely meditation chapel that now graces the south shore of the island. So, a big round of applause for both of these very talented ladies!
Plans are moving forward for the rest of the land redevelopment, as my schedule allows. I have started construction on a new meditation garden, in the southeast corner, and will continue on with the landscaping. Thanks to all for your prayers and support for me, and the rest of the leadership team, as we work to enhance this lovely environment for the work of this ministry and the glory of God!
